OUR TEXAS ROOTS

A Note From Our Founder, Katie Joyner

The story of Wallace Dry Goods began long before my husband Dave and I founded it in the summer of 2024. In many ways, it started more than a century ago in Llano, Texas, with my great-grandfather, William H. “Mr. Billy” Wallace.

He opened The Acme Dry Goods in 1910 — though everyone simply called it The Acme. It was a true small-town cornerstone, where generations of my family worked the counters and stocked the shelves. The Acme sold the rugged staples of Western life — dependable goods built to work hard, wear well, and stand the test of time. It was a store defined by character, quality, and an honest connection to the people who walked through its doors.

That legacy — and my maiden name, Wallace — is the foundation of everything we’re building today.

What started as a whim and a prayer has grown into an elevated, intentionally Western handbag brand that blends Texas grit with European refinement. To bring that vision to life, we’ve traveled far beyond the rivers and ranchlands where it all began — from Midland to Milan, Madrid to Manhattan, and even London to Los Angeles. Every stitch carries a piece of that story.

Wallace Dry Goods is the next chapter in a long-standing family tradition.

Only now, the goods come with a dust bag.
